Heidelberg Airfield - FAHG - 125.90
Heidelberg Airfield is situated 45 min drive south of Johannesburg and about 15 minutes flight south of Rand Airport.
Routing to FAHG from any direction, establish contact with FAHG traffic on 125.9 at least 5nm from FAHG.
From the North, At least 2nm North of the Heidelberg Telkom Tower.
From the North East, overhead Jameson Park OR in between Nigel and the Heidelberg Mine Dump.
From the East and South, At least 5- 8Nm before reaching FAHG: NB The aerobatic box is active and used at random, establish contact with FAHG traffic a minimum of 5 to 8Nm out. If the box is active, stay 3nm east or west of the airfield to route around the box and then to join overhead.
From the West, Use Karan Beef or Ratanda as the entry/Exit point. Establish contact with FAHG traffic before crossing Ratanda.
Joining Procedures: Join 7100ft overhead the airfield for the windsock inspection, descend on the Northern or Southern side to join the active crosswind.
All circuits are standard Left hand,, unless the aerobatic box is active, then Runway 24 is Right hand.

AVGAS available at Heidelberg airfield daily from 07.30 to 17.00 Monday to Fridays
Saturdays open from 08.00 to 13.00
